If you're looking for a house in the East Bay I can highly recommend David Kafton, a licensed real estate broker. He received his Ph.D. from UC Berkeley, has been a resident of Berkeley since the '60s, and so he knows the area like the back of his hand. He used to be with Mason-McDuffie and has been running his own practice for the past 20 years. He helped me buy my first house in 1994 and our second home in 2000. We weren't the highest bidders, but his presentation got it for us. Not only does David have over 30 years of experience as a realtor, he has an incredible amount of integrity and a heart of gold. We've remained friends to this day and if I need a referral for anything from a chimney sweep to a vet to the best eclair in town, he's the first person I call.
